Hi everyone, welcome to Corus Hotel Hyde Park. This is where we spent the first nights of our trip to London. The hotel in located right next to London’s famous Hyde Park however is not affected by the traffic around the park as it is in a little street next to the park. The whole building is impressive at first sight and this continues inside. The lobby is very spacious and equipped with very comfy furniture as well as a huge piano.

There are two underground stations and several bus stations in direct walking distance therefore the hotel is perfectly connected. And everybody who is sporty enough can even get to Oxford street in a 20 minute walk. Futhermore there are numerous bars and restaurants close to the hotel.

Hallo ihr Lieben, willkommen im Corus Hotel Hyde Park. Im heutigen Post möchte ich auch gerne von dem Hotel berichten, in welchem wir die ersten Nächste unserer Londonreise verbracht haben. Das Hotel befindet sich direkt am bekannten Hype Park und dennoch ruhig in einer Seitenstraße. Das Gebäude ist schon auf den ersten Blick beeindruckend, drinnen geht es dann genauso weiter. Die Lobby ist unheimlich großzügig und mit gemütlichen Möbeln ausgestattet. Außerdem befindet sich dort ein großer schwarzer Flügel, auf welchem sogar immer wieder ein Pianist spielte.

The room

Once we arrived we received the key card for our room which was on the 8th floor of the hotel with an amazing view. The room, which was very spacious for English hotels, was equipped with all our hearts desired: fluffy bathrobes, fresh fruit, amazingly smelling shower gel, shampoo and body lotion, a coffee machine as well as something that I appreciated a lot – a huge Vidal Sassoon hair dryer. A hair dryer is something I usually forget when I travel and therefore I was really thankful that Corus Hotel was that thoughtful.

Do you know what I think makes a hotel a good hotel? – The bed. And I can definitely tell you that our bed at Corus Hotel was one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept in. Scroll down to find some photos of our beautiful room and some information about the breakfast at Corus Hotel.

Das Zimmer

Kaum waren wir angekommen, durften wir auch schon unser Zimmer im 8. Stock des Hotel beziehen. Der Ausblick auf die kleine Straße und genialen Bauten vor dem Hotel war sagenhaft. Das Zimmer selbst war für englische Verhältnisse überaus geräumig und mit allen ausgestattet, was das Herz begehrt: kuschelige Bademäntel, frisches Obst, hochwertiges Shampoo, Duschgel und Bodylotion, Kaffeemaschine und etwas, das ich ganz besonders zu schätzen wusste – ein großer Vidal Sassoon Fön. Meinen Föhn vergesse ich auf Reisen nämlich regelmäßig, weshalb ich die Umsichtigkeit des Hotels umso mehr zu schätzen wusste.

Und wisst ihr, was ein Hotel für mich zu einem besonders guten Hotel macht? – Das Bett. Und ich kann von unserem gemütlichen Doppelbett im Corus Hotel geradezu schwärmen, denn es gehört wohl zu den gemütlichsten Betten, in welchen ich je geschlafen habe. The breakfast

We were very lucky to have breakfast included in our stay as I believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Furthermore the breakfast at Corus Hotel was very varied and perfectly delicious. We could choose from different egg dishes, cereals as well as classic English breakfast. The huge breakfast area had a conservatory that was flooded with light and I just loved to start my day there. The very kind service staff read our every wishes from our eyes – if it was tea, coffee or hot chocolate. We were spoiled like kings.

 

Das Frühstück

Wir Glückspilze hatten bei unserem Aufenthalt im Corus Hotel Hyde Park den Luxus, auch das Frühstück dabei zu haben. Für mich ist Frühstück die wichtigste Mahlzeit des Tages und das Hotel-Team hat uns auf ganzer Linie verwöhnt. Verschiedene Eiergerichte, Müslis oder typisch englisches Frühstück – es gab kaum etwas, das es nicht gab und noch dazu wurde uns jeder Wunsch nahezu von den Augen abgelesen. Wir haben quasi gespeist wie die Könige.
