Hello everyone, here comes the second post about where we lived in Barcelona and as promised it was a very different accomodation compared to the first one. The Retrome boutique hotel very well located in the center of Barcelona close to the big shopping street Passeig de Gracia and perfectly connected to any other point in Barcelona with metro and busses. The little hotel is completely equipped with vintage furniture and each single corner is carefully decorated with love to detail.
Our room which was on the first floor had a super comfy huge double bed and little balcony with a lovely view. However it was not a really spacious room this did not bother at all as we just had to step out of the room to get into the living room. There we had a little kitchen where we could have tea or coffee, relax in the cosy sofa corner or take a seat in the open patio. Where ever you looked there was beautiful decor. The floors are covered with stylish old colourful tiles. I just coulnd’t get enough of taking photos.
In the morning Retrome offers a perfectly balanced breakfast. Fresh juices, a wide range of cereals, Spanish cheese and ham, crusty bread and hot chocolate made the start into the new day a perfect one. And we were even able to make our own waffles – is there anything cooler than that? By the way the café and lounge where the breakfast was served is open not only to hotel guests but everyone who would like to enjoy some vintage atmosphere. So once you are in Barcelona and even if your not staying at Retrome you should come by and have a refreshing drink there. Besides Barcelona there is also a Retrome hotel in Rome. I can only recommend staying there. We immediately felt home and the whole team what so kind and caring that we did not want to leave anymore.

Ein liebes Hallo an euch alle, hier kommt auch schon der versprochene Post über unsere zweite Unterkunft in Barcelona. Die war wie gesagt ganz anders, als unsere AirBnB Wohnung. Das Retrome Boutique Hotel befindet sich wunderbar zentral ganz in der nähe der bekannten Shoppingstraße Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona. Alles was nicht fußläufig erreichbar ist, erreicht man über einen der Busse, die direkt ums Eck abbfahren oder aber mit der Ubahn, die ein kleines Stück die Straße runter abfährt. Das hübsche kleine Hotel ist durch und durch mit Vintage Mobiliar eingerichtet. Jede Ecke ist liebevoll dekoriert.
Unser Zimmer, das im ersten Stock lag, verfügte über ein riesige unheimlich gemütliches Doppelbett und einen süßen kleinen Balkon. Auch wenn das Zimmer selbst nicht besonders geräumig war, war das alles andere als ein Problem, denn direkt vor der Tür erstreckte sich das riesige Gemeinschafts-Wohnzimmer mit einer kleinen Küchenecke, in der wir uns nach Belieben Tee und Kaffee zubereiten konnten. In der Sofa-Ecke konnte man relaxen, der unüberdachte Patio lud zum Platznehmen in der Sonne ein. Wo man auch hinsah, konnte man erkennen, mit welcher Sorgfalt die Möbel ausgewählt und zusammengestellt wurden. Der Boden war übrigens durchgehend mit bunt verzierten Fliesen bedeckt. Ich konnte kaum genug kriegen vom Fotos machen.
In der früh hat uns im Café des Retrome ein tolles Frühstücksbuffet mit frischen Säften, verschiedenen Müslisorten, spanischen Käse- und Schinkenvariationen, knusprigem Brot und heißer Schokolade erwartet. Wir konnten sogar unsere eigenen Waffeln machen – gibt’s was cooleres? Das Café ist übrigens nicht nur für Hotelgäste geöffnet, sondern auch für alle anderen, die ein bisschen Vintage-Flair genießen möchten. Wenn ihr also einmal in Barcelona seid, kommt auf jeden Fall vorbei, auch wenn es nur für einen kühlen Drink ist. Neben dem Retrome in Barcelona gibt es übrigens auch noch eines in Rom. Ich kann euch einen Aufenthalt jedenfalls nur empfehlen. Wir wurden vom Team des Retrome so herzlich empfangen und liebevoll umsorgt, dass wir uns augenblicklich wie zuhause fühlten.
